Silvrback blog imageTim's CT scan yesterday showed that his disease has stabilized, with a slight decrease in the size of some of his lymph nodes as well as his liver metastasis. This is mostly good news, although it means that Tim will have to continue his chemo treatment that, so far, has been making him pretty sick most of the time. But, as Tim . . .

Silvrback blog imageWe've mostly been lying low over the past few weeks, but we have managed to get out for a few walks in nearby trails along the coast or in the hills. Since his most recent chemo treatments, Tim has been struggling with side-effects -- lack of appetite, abdominal pain and neuropathy. His ascites (fluid buildup in his stomach) also . . .

Silvrback blog image We’re doing ok, considering. Tim had his third round of chemo last Friday. The usual side-effects have followed for the past week, notably feeling sick and nauseated. Silvrback blog imageWith his transplant behind him, now a decision needs to be made whether or not Paul should start on a maintenance dose of chemo. A maintenance dose of chemo would be a lower daily dose of Revlimid -- the first chemo Paul started on almost two years ago. The latest research shows that a maintenance dose helps some post-transplant patients . . .

Silvrback blog imageWe've mostly been hunkered down over the past few weeks. Tim is still struggling with nausea and lack of appetite, as well as pain in his abdomen. He’s due to start chemo on Friday after being off chemo for over a year and a half. Tim has enjoyed being off chemo, and now we're both anxious about his starting back on chemo. This is an . . .
